The lowest priced sub flooring system is the Safe Sleeper System.
This system is recommended for racquetball use only. The most popular
and economically priced system for competitive basketball and volleyball
is the Thrust-A-Cushion Panel System. Installation is quick and
the sub flooring system is very solid with good spring. This system
has 32 rubber pads on the bottom of the first layer of each piece of plywood to ensure
great response and forgiveness to your knees and lower back. |

teams use first grade, small colleges and high schools typically use 2nd and
better grade, and athletic facilities and primary schools tend to

GYM FLOOR SANDING
COURTSPORTS uses large riding drum sanders to remove the existing
gym finishes and sand the floor to bare wood. This process takes
approximately one to three days depending on the size of the gym
floor and the number of previous coatings. The floor is sanded using
36, 60, 100, and 120 grits to a smooth and uniform surface. Then
the floor is cleaned, walls are wiped, and the floor is sealed.

AQUADEFENDER™
WOOD FLOOR FINISH is the most durable coating system
available (when mixed with CROSSLINX’R™). It is a premium
2-component (optional) waterborne sport floor finish specifically
designed for high gloss and durability. It can also be used as a
one-part waterborne gym finish if mixing is not desired. AQUADEFENDER™
meets or exceeds VOC requirements of ALL federal, state, and regional
regulations in the United States <250 g/L. And because AQUADEFENER™
dries in 2-3 hours so multiple coats can be achieved in one day,
which means less downtime for your court floor. Another benefit
when using AQUADEFENDER™ is that it will not discolor white
painted logos or lines on your basketball gym as oil-modified coatings.
AQUADEFENDER™ will dry crystal clear so your white colored
paints remain bright and vibrant. Recommended - ONE seal coat using
AQUADEFNDER™ PENETRATING SEAL followed by THREE coats of AQUADEFENDER™
WOOD FLOOR FINISH.
COURTSPORTS offers an alternative
oil-modified sealer called AQUADEFENDER™ FAST DRY SEAL that
can be used to seal the bare wood with the “look” of
an oil modified seal, but compatible with the waterborne AQUADEFENDER™
WOOD FLOOR FINISH.
POLYDEFENDER™
WOOD FLOOR FINISH is a high solids, superior oil-modified
polyurethane finish designed to provide unsurpassed durability,
gloss, and chemical resistance for high traffic sport floors. POLYDEFENDER™
utilizes “AAET” (Advantage Adhesion-Enhancement Technology),
which minimizes questionable intercoat abrasion and/or problems
with contamination. The unique formulation has exceptional gloss
and outstanding application properties. Solids – 50%, Dry-time
16- 24 hours recoat, VOC <450 g/L. Recommended - TWO seal coats
using POLYDEFENDER™ PENETRATING SEAL followed by TWO coats
of POLYDEFENDER™ WOOD FLOOR FINISH. |
