Formulated for the extreme demands of heavy-traffic, high-impact, multi-use, hardwood sport floors. The DEFENDER products were developed using proprietary technologies and the finest raw materials. Product developement started with the goal to be the most scuff resistant, gloss retained, chemical resistant, and environmentally responsible gym floor coatings.
INTRODUCTION TO VOC'S
The United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) in conjunction with the coatings industry, formalized in 1998-1999 a series of regulations to limit VOC emissions from architectural and industrial maintenance (site-applied) coatings. These regulations, especially by 2004 standards, are reasonable from a compliance and technology standpoint. In these regulations - 40 CFR Part 59, Subpart D - varnishes are listed at a VOC of 450 g/L. A coating manufacturer making a 500 or 550 g/L varnish could pay exceedance fees, which often resulted in lower cost than reformulation of their product line. The national regulations also included tonnage exemptions. The EPA document allows states and regions to impose stricter regulations based on environmental and meteorological needs. That is where the real difficulty for the coatings industry and varnish manufacturers began.
SOUTH COAST AIR QUALITY MANAGEMENT DISTRICT
California initiated the original coatings industry VOC regulations, and has continually pushed the VOC regulations lower. Within California, the various regional Air Quality Management Districts (AQMD) can set even lower limits. The lowest limits in the United States are set by the South Coast Air Quality Management District (SCAQMD), which includes within its jurisdiction Orange County and Los Angeles. The current SCAQMD VOC level for varnishes is 275 g/L. The South Coast district will do away with the exemption for varnishes in containers of less than one liter in size.

AQUADEFENDER™ PENETRATING SEAL IS DESIGNED TO SEAL AND MINIMIZE GRAIN RAISE, WHILE PROVIDING A LEVEL, HIGH -BUILD BASE. THE EXCEPTIONAL GLOSS AND CLARITY OF THIS FORMULA ENHANCES THE DEPTH OF AQUADEFENDER WOOD FLOOR FINISH. For added gloss and adhesion penetrating sealer may be crosslinked using CROSSLINX'R.
Characteristics: High build, Fast drying, Easy to apply, Non-yellowing, Non-offending odor, V.O.C. compliant (<200 gm/L), Water cleanup.

CROSSLINX'R™ HARDENER ADDITIVE IS A HIGHLY-EFFICIENT ADDITIVE THAT PROVIDES INCREASED CROSS-LINKING DENSITY WHEN ADDED TO AQUADEFENDER WOOD FLOOR FINISH. CROSSLINX'R CAN BE USED TO PROMOTE ADHESION ON WOOD FLOORS OF QUESTIONABLE PRIOR MAINTENANCE AND/OR CONTAMINATION. CROSSLINX'R MAY ALSO BE USED WHERE INCREASED DURABILITY AND CHEMICAL RESISTANCE IS REQUIRED.

POLYDEFENDER™ WOOD FLOOR FINISH IS A HIGH-SOLIDS, SUPERIOR OIL-MODIFIED POLYURETHANE FINISH DESIGNED TO PROVIDE UNSURPASSED DURABILITY, GLOSS, AND CHEMICAL RESISTANCE FOR HIGH TRAFFIC SPORT FLOORS. POLYDEFENDER™ WOOD FLOOR FINISH UTILIZES "AAET" (ADVANTAGE ADHESION-ENHANCEMENT TECHNOLOGY), WHICH MINIMIZES QUESTIONABLE INTERCOAT ABRASION AND/OR PROBLEMS WITH CONTAMINATION. POLYDEFENDER™ FAST DRY SEAL IS A QUICK DRYING WOOD FLOOR SEAL THAT ALLOWS FOR MULTIPLE COATS IN A DAY. AN OIL-MODIFIED FORMULATION, THE LIGHT AMBER COLOR ENHANCES THE NATURAL WOOD TONES AND IS COMPATIBLE WITH ALL COURTSPORTS DEFENDER COATING SYSTEMS.

DEFENDER™ COURT FLOOR PADS
THE DEFENDER™ BLUE PAD is a stiff, blue non-woven thin pad. The pad has an open surface configuration and a unique “crusty” feel due to grain being applied to the first few layers of the surface. The center of the pad is designed to soften the abrasion. THE DEFENDER™ BLUE PAD removes a minimum amount of finish and leaves a fine “haze free” scratch that is not visible through the new coats of finish. The scratch pattern is sufficient to promote adhesion to the next coat of finish. It was specifically developed for between coat preparation of waterborne finishes, however it can be used for all types of finish. THE DEFENDER™ BLUE PAD is aggressive for knock down grain raise and removes small amounts of “trash” from properly dried sealers and finishes. It is also safe for use on game line paints, large painted borders, and keys. DEFENDER™ BLUE PADS are available in 12 inch, 16 inch and 20 inch.
